PRE-CASA Program

The Montessori Pre-Casa Program provides hands-on, self-paced learning that nurtures independence, social skills, confidence, and a strong academic foundation for future growth.

Our Pre-Casa Program

is thoughtfully designed for children aged 16 months to 2.5 years, providing a warm and nurturing environment that supports their early developmental needs. This Program involves learning to use all five senses in an active and self-paced manner.

Pre-Casa students are introduced to and engage with five areas of the Montessori Curriculum: Sensorial, Practical Life, Mathematics, Language and Culture, building skills and confidence through hands-on activities, repetition, and practice

The daily routine is tailored to this age group’s need for movement and hands-on exploration, while honoring each child’s unique needs, interests, and learning style. Recognizing that this is a crucial time for growth and exploration, our program focuses on fostering independence, creativity, and a love of learning in our youngest learners while they prepare to advance to the Casa Program.

Montessori-Equipped Classrooms

Our classrooms are fully equipped with authentic Montessori materials, carefully selected to encourage exploration and hands-on learning. Each space is thoughtfully arranged to promote independence, allowing children to choose their activities and engage at their own pace. Natural light, soft colors, and inviting areas for movement create a calming atmosphere where children feel safe to explore and learn.

A Holistic Approach to Learning

In our Pre-Casa Program, we understand that each child is unique. Our experienced educators are dedicated to observing and responding to each child’s interests and developmental stages. We create individualized learning experiences that foster a sense of belonging and promote holistic growth—intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

Curriculum Highlights

The Pre-Casa Program incorporates a variety of Montessori materials designed to stimulate young minds and lay a solid foundation for future learning, problem solving skills and critical thinking.
Key components of our curriculum include:
  • Practical Life Skills: Practical life activities are designed to promote the care of self, others, and the environment. These activities teach valuable daily life skills while also nurturing key areas of development, including independence, social skills, grace and courtesy, concentration, and coordination. By engaging in these purposeful tasks, children gain a deeper understanding of their role in the world around them and develop the confidence to take care of their needs and surroundings.  Examples of materials and activities include: Spooning, Pouring, Gardening and plant care, Care of self, Window washing and more.
  • Sensorial: Sensorial activities are designed to help children refine and develop their senses of sight, touch, taste, smell, and sound. These activities encourage children to explore and engage with the world around them, enhancing their ability to classify, sort, and distinguish between objects based on their sensory impressions. As children work with these materials, they gain a deeper understanding of the environment and improve their cognitive abilities. These sensory skills form a crucial foundation for future learning, particularly in language development and mathematics.
Examples of materials and activities include: Pink Tower, Brown Stairs, Red Rods, Geometric Tray and more.
  • Mathematics: Montessori mathematics materials are carefully designed to help children grasp abstract mathematical concepts through tactile, hands-on learning. These materials bridge the gap between concrete experiences and abstract thinking, allowing children to explore mathematical ideas in a meaningful way. As they engage with these tools, students develop an understanding of numerals, learn to count and sequence numbers, explore patterns and number systems, laying the groundwork for more advanced mathematical thinking. Through these hands-on activities, children build a strong foundation in mathematics that fosters both practical skills and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Examples of materials and activities include: Sandpaper Numbers, Number Rods, Spindle Box, Cards and Counters, and more.
  • Language: Montessori language materials support toddlers in developing essential language skills, including letter recognition, phonics, understanding simple word structures, and distinguishing between vowels and consonants. These materials also lay the foundation for early writing and reading, helping children build the necessary skills for literacy development. Through engaging, hands-on activities, children are encouraged to explore and connect with language in a meaningful and interactive way.
Examples of materials and activities include: Sandpaper Letters, Three-Part Cards, Metal Insets, Object Picture Matching, and more.
  • Culture: The Montessori Culture Curriculum introduces children to a wide range of subjects, including the arts, geography, science, the environment, national culture, music, and history. Through engaging cultural activities, children explore their local community and the wider world, discovering both similarities and differences. This process helps them develop an understanding, appreciation, and respect for diversity, as well as a deeper connection to all living things. The curriculum fosters a sense of global awareness, promoting curiosity and respect for the cultures, environments, and histories that shape our world.
Examples of materials and activities include: Land and Water Globe, Flag Puzzles, Botany Cabinet, Life Cycle Puzzle, and more.

We invite you to explore our Pre-Casa Program and discover how it can provide your child with a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Together, we can nurture their curiosity and help them flourish in their early years!
